WACKEN WINTER NIGHTS cancelled due to extreme weather conditions
Stormy weather in Germany has continued to the present time influenced the Wacken festival Winter Nights, which is scheduled for this weekend. The continuing strong winds cause delays and installation works, while meteorologists expect the situation will get worse in the coming weekend. After a detailed consultation with the responsible authorities, the organizers of the festival decided to cancel the event because the safety of spectators, employees, and all other groups involved in the festival is the most important criterion. Clarification: the fourth international Winter festival in Wacken will not take place until February 2021.
"It is with deep regret that we were forced to cancel Wacken Winter Nights this year due to the extreme weather conditions with constant extreme winds", explains Helge Rudolph, the authorized representative Full Entertainment GmbH. "We understand and share the huge disappointment of the visitors and artists. Despite adverse circumstances, our team works day and night to the festival and provided the fans a great time. However, the safety of all attendees is always our top priority, so we feel the need to do this step".
