Opened in late 2002 at the initiative of the eminent conductor Vladimir Spivakov, the Moscow international House of music immediately became the center of cultural life of the capital. Participated in the opening ceremony Vladimir Putin called the House of music "a beautiful crystal Cup". Building with futuristic style architecture and includes three main areas: Svetlanov, Chamber and Theatre halls and a summer terrace Music, a recording Studio and an exhibition hall.

Chamber hall of MMDM is made in classic style in green and red tones designed for chamber music concerts and musical and literary evenings. Acoustic characteristics of the hall make it the best for the performance of chamber music.
